5- Safety procedures for using tools and chemichals.

Lithography

400.000 LBP (Month)
4 x 2-hours sessions

Based on the concept that water repels oil, a stone is used as a matrix to produce prints. (Does not include printing paper).

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

1- Understanding planography and the oil/water repulsion.
2- Materials and techniques for drawing on the stone.
3- Achieving the use of tonal value to produce volume.
4- Processes involved in printing from the stone.
5- Understanding inks, modifiers and gum layer.
6- Preparing the stone pre and post work.
5- Safety procedures for using tools and chemichals.

Silkscreen Printmaking

375.000 LBP (Month)
1 Day Workshop (6 to 8 hours) Summer Only

Learn everything there is to know about silkscreen from preparing the image, making the screen, and printing on paper techniques. Does not include materials.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

1- Understanding the principles of silkscreen printing.
2- Materials and techniques for creating the screen.
3- Preparing the file for printing a negative.
4- Processes involved preparing a screen (emulsion burning and developing).
5- Understanding inks, modifiers materials that can be printed on.
6- Safety procedures for using tools and chemichals.

Photography
Intro to Film Photography (B/W)

320.000 LBP (Month)
4 x 2-hours sessions

Explore different aspects of analog photography such as using a manual SLR camera and its functions, properly calculating exposure, film developing, and making enlargements in the darkroom. (Does not include film. Chemistry and paper are pay-per-use).

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

1- Film anatomy.
2- Exposure and its variables.
3- Film development in normal conditions.
4- Making a contact sheet and test strip.
5- Making an enlargement at normal contrast.
6- Creative techniques for development.

Advanced Film Photography (B/W)

320.000 LBP (Month)
4 x 2-hours sessions

Now that you have a base on how to use a film camera and some darkroom experience, let’s take a look at the ZONE SYSTEM; an advanced method of properly getting detail on the full tonal range of the film. We also have a chance to explore alternative darkroom techniques such as slip-toning and multiple exposures on the enlarger. (Does not include film. Chemistry and paper are pay-per-use).

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

1- Understanding tonal value.
2- Shooting using the zone system.
3- Understanding development in push-pull conditions.
4- Split-toning.
5- Making an enlargement using fiber-based paper.

Color development & c-prints

320.000 LBP (Month)
4 x 2-hours sessions

With the experience and knowledge that was built so far, we learn how to adapt it for color film. We also develop our films and make color enlargements, technically known as c-prints. (Does not include film. Chemistry and paper are pay-per-use).

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

1- Understanding tonal value in color.
2- Understanding saturation and color balance.
3- Developing film using C-41.
4- Making C-prints.
5- Using processing machines.

Large Format Photography 4×5

480.000 LBP (Month)
4 x 2-hours sessions

In this workshop, we will cover large format photography using a Sinar F 4×5 camera. Understand all of the movements involved in view cameras (such as tilt/shift) and learn below extension exposure compensation. You will have the opportunity to make one portrait and one still life in studio ambient using artificial light. We will cover the processing of sheet film (in black & white) as well as making contact prints from the negatives obtained. This workshop INCLUDES ALL OF THE MATERIALS necessary for each participant to make 2 photos.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

1- Large format film anatomy.
2- View camera movements.
3- Exposure metering for artificial light.
4- Bellow extension exposure compensation.
5- Developing sheet film.
6- Making contact prints from your 4×5 negatives.
